The plenary sessions

The plenary sessions are public meetings of the Parliament; in theory, a session takes place every other week.

The plenary session is, so to speak, the heart of every democratic activity:

  • It is where all the decisions are taken;
  • All the elected deputies take part in the decisions taken by vote;
  • In theory, all the decisions are taken at the plenary session (apart from the decisions related to the staff).

The typical subjects dealt with at the plenary session are:

  • Current questions directed at the government;
  • The adoption of decrees;
  • The interpellations (set of asked questions debated by the assembly).
