The latest legislative elections of the German-speaking Community took place on 7th June 2009; 47.446 persons were entitled to vote. The valid votes were distributed among the candidate parties as follows:

The coalition
 I. Weykmans, B. Gentges, K.-H. Lambertz, O. Paasch | After the elections, a majority constituted by PFF, SP and ProdDG was formed (13 seats out of 25). The majority elected a government composed of four ministers :
- Karl-Heinz Lambertz (SP), Minister-President
- Oliver Paasch (ProDG)
- Isabelle Weykmans (PFF)
- Harald Mollers (ProDG)
